The 2022-2023 school year will be my 17th year of teaching. Teaching is a chosen second career for me. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Juniata College. I worked as a genetic scientist at Johns Hopkins before getting my teaching certificate from York College. I have my master's equivalency degree and continue to take classes as part of my continuing education in improving my art of teaching. Throughout my teaching career, I've taught grades 3 and 5. This is my 8th year at DAIS as an English Language Arts teacher.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 24-year-old son. He graduated from Campbell University in North Carolina with a BBA degree in Accounting in 2020. I loved cheering him on at his baseball games as we traveled often to see him play. His team won the Big South Championship two years in a row when he was a sophomore and junior. Unfortunately, he missed out on his senior baseball season due to the Covid 19 pandemic. He finished his Master's Degree in Sports Management at Millersville University and enjoyed playing baseball there during the 2021 season. Besides watching baseball, I also enjoy exercising, running my independent Mary Kay business, being a part of KPETS (Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services) with our labradoodle, Sophie, and of course- reading!
