DAIS PTO Grant Guidelines
A link to the grant application is provided at the bottom of this page.
I. Purpose
The
DAIS PTO offers grants for projects that benefit the DAIS school
community. Projects will target the academic, social, and/or emotional
well-being of DAIS students.
Because of limited resources, the DAIS PTO does not typically provide grants for:
- Projects outside of the Dallastown Area Intermediate School
- Multi-year projects
- Capital expenditures
- Scholarships, travel, research, or other forms of financial assistance to individuals
- Projects currently funded through existing programs or budget
II. Criteria
In selecting grantees, the Dallastown Area Intermediate School PTO considers the following criteria:
- Purpose. Will the proposed grant provide meaningful, creative or extraordinary opportunities for student growth and development?
- Impact. To what extent will the grant make a lasting and significant difference in the life of one or more students?
- Strategy. Will the proposal enhance, but not supplant, existing programs of the district?
- Inclusiveness. Are underserved segments or unmet needs of the school's youth reached by this proposal?
- Design. Is the proposal structured in a clear, thoughtful, and reasonable manner?
- Capacity. Are resources and leadership available for the proposal’s success?
- Eligibility. Are you a member of the DAIS PTO?
III. Process
Applications
will be considered annually. The deadline for submissions is February 2nd. Applicants are strongly encouraged to consider their proposal in the
context of the Dallastown Area Intermediate School PTO Grant Guidelines.
The
Executive Board of the PTO reviews eligible proposals. Upon the
recommendation of the board, the Dallastown Area Intermediate School PTO
authorizes grants. Applicants will be notified of a grant decision by
February 14.
